The Illusion of Recruitment – A Disheartening Reality 📢
There’s nothing more disheartening than giving your best in an interview, feeling like you’ve nailed it, and then… silence. No response, no rejection—just an endless wait, hoping for an update that never comes. Even after sending follow-up emails, the only thing you get is disappointment.
And then there’s the worst part—some companies seem to conduct interviews just for the sake of it. No real intention to hire, just a process to keep up appearances. Candidates are left questioning themselves, wondering what went wrong, replaying every answer in their heads. The constant cycle of hope and rejection chips away at your confidence, making you doubt your own worth.
Job hunting is tough, but the least companies can do is show some basic respect—acknowledge efforts, give a simple update, and not leave candidates hanging in confusion. This process isn’t just about hiring; it affects real people, their morale, and their future.
To everyone going through this—you’re not alone. Keep pushing forward. The right opportunity will come.

It's absolutely heartbreaking to see these things happening quite frequently. Most of times, it is function of too much supply of talent (hence recruiting companies can afford to be ignorant) or lack of meaningful feedback (like interviewer suggesting to keep the candidate on hold while he/she meets other candidates in pipeline, resulting into too much delay). Irrespective of these situation, the feedback/update part is largely driven by recruiter self agency to do things diligently at work, which is largely missing nowadays, also Talent acquisition leaders not ensuring this practise down the line does add on on to this practice.
