The dream to own a house with the land in Bangalore seem to be over ambitious. Anyone have similar dream or own one?

If the entire world is making your dreams expensive, maybe forfeit it. Never fight the markets.

Overpaying for a house means you are just giving away your heard earned money to a builder who earns 55-70% gross margin.

Why do you guys want a house, I have apartment in Bangalore (bought in covid) and I am perfectly fine with this, I don’t have to maintain a house with land etc. I m from Mumbai and hence I never had that dream. Most people who dream of this forget how much effort a house to maintain as they had their mom working on the maintenance full time Me and my husband both work full time and there is no way we can afford that much effort.

Now I know what people say about land appreciation etc but as someone who has seen my parents flat in 1990’s giving 10x returns I think flat will also go up only. Re developments are a thing and almost all buildings in Mumbai are going through with it after 20 years. I know buildings who are on to 2nd redevelopment.Bangalore will start seeing it as well.

You will never know the feeling of living in your home on the ground floor, with a varandah, own small lawn, car and bike parked infront etc. Difficult to tell.

Same dream, but built in tier2 city. Very difficult in tier1 cities, nothing is impossible though :) Go abroad in some top companies for long term then maybe you can achieve it. Or build successful startup.

Good luck.

Why.. you could build a literal palace with hot servants to serve you grapes in a tier2-3 city with that money πŸ’°

Will you consider GJ a tier-2 city?

It’s a good idea too. But I would consider somewhere south. May be a tier2 within Karnataka or TN or KL.

It's a waste of money to buy in Bangalore. Infrastructure is poor compared to the village I live in WB.πŸ˜‚ Also trust me, this infra won't be fixed in the next 30 years too. Companies are moving out, people are opting for more remote roles, so it's better to be cash rich at the moment to exercise your freedom rather than just house rich, if house is a requirement...I would suggest look into tier 2 tier 3 cities or the outskirts.
