Wait till you know about activist investors- they buy stock to fire employees when CEOs don't and make companies profitable

It's not orchestrated. It's about the ROI. If the business you invested in doesn't make money you will have to fire employees anyway. It's been seen in the past recession. Not a new thing or conspiracy.
