The correct duration to leave a company…
If you leave an org in less than a year… they will ask why so early. If you stay 10 years… they will ask why so late. If you stay 2 years… they will say you haven't stayed long enough to create "impact"
So I got to ask - What is the correct duration? Answer is.. even they don't know.
So .. I took it on myself... to figure the answer. And I have spent time thinking about this. Like, genuinely. Sat with it. Reflected.
And here is what I have learned: The correct duration to leave a company… is exactly when the other org is too desperate to ask STUPID AF questions.
One interview, 1000+ job opportunities
Take a 10-min AI interview to qualify for numerous real jobs auto-matched to your profile 🔑I don't think there's a correct duration as such... regardless of how long you stay in your current org, the company you seek will always ask the "Why you decide to leave early/this time/late?" question.
Just be prepared to spoon-feed them what they want to hear
