The correct duration to leave a company…

If you leave an org in less than a year… they will ask why so early. If you stay 10 years… they will ask why so late. If you stay 2 years… they will say you haven't stayed long enough to create "impact"

So I got to ask - What is the correct duration? Answer is.. even they don't know.

So .. I took it on myself... to figure the answer. And I have spent time thinking about this. Like, genuinely. Sat with it. Reflected.

And here is what I have learned: The correct duration to leave a company… is exactly when the other org is too desperate to ask STUPID AF questions.

They will ask no matter what duration it is, you just need to answer what they wanted to listen to.

I don't think there's a correct duration as such... regardless of how long you stay in your current org, the company you seek will always ask the "Why you decide to leave early/this time/late?" question.

Just be prepared to spoon-feed them what they want to hear
