The client has ended the contract with TCS and my last working day in the project is 31st August. I don't want to take any projects further.

The client has ended the contract with TCS and my last working day in the project is 31st August. I don't want to take any projects further as I want to switch to other companies. I'm planning to resign next month. Will they give me a new project or can i serve my notice period without any project and take the early release from tcs?
