Nothing wrong with poaching. They are here to build businesses, not cheer innovators for their amazing ideas. Nothing innovative about Hotstar. Hotstar copied from somewhere else and so on. Every idea is an evolution.

True. But it's more than poaching, can't reveal more but their practices are shady.
There's no strong laws in India that stops corporates stealing and selling secrets, much less code 🙂

Most of their ventures in new markets are by people who have done this in past for great companion and Jio's job is to fuel them with money.
Check where Hotstar's engineering leadership and Senior devs went? Tada JioCinema. HotStar invested a lot of time and effort in building a great live streaming service, but all Jio did to beat them was poach their team and great content deals.
Another one, remeber cloudtail? Amazon's venture which had to be closed due to regulations, where did the folks from Cloudtail endup? Tada JioMart. Even though it's not as successful, but they managed to cover lot of market with little effort and lot of money
This looks cool, but is a highly destructive process, where innovative buisnesses will simply stop to come up in India because they can get crushed by Monoliths like Reliance or Tata.
If jio platforms get listed today then will be 4th largest firm in India by mcap.
