I graduated from non-Computer-Science branch in engineering. Mid-way through my career, realized that lack of formal CS knowledge was holding me back in senior SE positions.

Took a year of break from job, and systematically self-studied all of B.Tech. Computer Science subjects by downloading all subjects syllabus and textbooks, and watching free video lectures of various university CS courses available online.

Got a big boost in my confidence and career from that. One year of systematic and dedicated goal-oriented work can greatly improve your life 😊

Everytime I read people coming back stronger after a career break, it instills confidence in my own choice of taking one this year.

I had never been serious for the first 3 years in college. Got a manual trading internship in Gurgaon. That internship taught me what kind of job I definitely don't want to do, and it also taught me how I'll always stay mediocre if I don't work hard. I set a target, and grinded for 6 months. Ended up at a decent place.
