Hey Mumbaikars, I'm relocating to Mumbai this December. I wanted to understand the housing scenario there. I'm looking for a budget, 1 or 2 bhk to be shared by 2 to 3 people. It should have min amenities like a fridge and a washing machine. It's better if it's in a gated society. Max budget for total rent for the flat/apartment is 12k to 15k. Need your advice on if I should get my place near the office for a slightly higher price or should I go for a cheaper place slightly far from the office. My office is in Chirak Nagar, Thane.

Not by much.

2 BHKs should be in the 20K-ish range. Try and stay close to Chirag Nagar (I am assuming you are in Lodha). Get in one of the older standalone buildings.

What you'll save in commute costs and time will make up for the higher rent.
