Apparently what jio and other companies did was, they removed internet option from their value packs, reduced the cost of these plans by peanuts and selling them in the name of voice only plans as regulated by TRAI 🤡

TRAI has no business regulating prices.
If they are looking to provide cheap services, they can ask BSNL to do that especially since the taxpayer is spending lakhs of crores in reviving that white elephant.
Talk is cheap, it's the private telcos who have done those most to make telephone services affordable and also ensured excellent coverage in rural and remote areas.
I am very happy the bureaucrats at TRAI have been shown their place.
They are not regulating price. They are asking for options of pack. If I don't want to use data why I should purchase.
And it's not a free market where no regulations is required. It's a duopoly. We can appreciate if some better order has been passed but ideally TRAI and govt should promote free market with more players so that companies have to release plan which are needed by people not dictate things as it is a duopoly
I agree with you the good work jio has done to improve the telecom infrastructure. But it seems now that they are pushing down the plans onto people. If I don’t want 1.5gb per day plan , there should be another option for me.
And seriously, what they did now in those plans is truly hilarious 😆. Plan was already there, they removed the data option from it and call it voice only affordable plans. I mean what the heckkk
And now the customer has to shelver even more money to have data
