I have heard from someone that you only get promotion through techleap if you have spent 6 months in a project. I have just completed my training and am on bench currently and have to choose a stream in techleap. Please provide suggestions Thanks.
Yes, thats one of the eligibility criterias i.e. having 6 months or more of Project WBS. Even I have cleared my Techleap School-1 back in October and was expecting to be promoted in Dec 2023. But didn't got promoted because didn't had 6 months of Project WBS. Not sure what's the criteria in case of someone being on bench.
but if 6 months is a criteria why would they send me techleap link so early. I have joined last November and completed my training on 22 Jan
Training durations differ for different streams, which I believe is less in your case. Techleap invites are shared post training completion. The process of undergoing a Techleap school learning, appearing for the exam and waiting for the results easily takes around 3-4 months. By that time some fortunate ones somehow have 6 months of Project WBS with them.
Total misguidance. I was on bench when I cleared techleap and got promoted whereas ppl who were in a project but failed to clear techleap were not promoted.
For choosing a school in Techleap- Either choose one in which you have strong basic knowledge and understanding or some people choose a school solely on the basis of the dumps (questions) they get from friends or colleagues. For example, AWS or Azure, I have heard that dumps for these schools can be easily acquired.
Imo techleap promotion depends on your project manager..if you have good knowledge of your work and performing well you will be promoted. And people on bench do get promoted it’s on your luck. Choose a stream and study it well because it appears on your myCompetency profile and also can get projects based on it. Don’t go with the one’s having dumps. You can do, it’s totally your choice but study the topic for basic knowledge atleast.
