Tech Skills: How Do You Know When You've Learned Enough?

Since graduating from college, one question keeps bothering me: How do you know when you've learned enough to feel job-ready?

In school, we had a clear syllabus — study four chapters, practice a few questions, and you knew you were prepared. But in the tech world, even with roadmaps and guides, the path feels endless.

Take JavaScript, for example. Do I need to master every function, method, or concept to feel confident? Should I dive deep into frameworks like React, explore backend concepts, or focus on mastering core JavaScript alone? The more you explore, the more there seems to be — making it tough to decide when you’re actually ready.

If I say I know JavaScript on my resume, what if an interviewer throws advanced questions my way? Without a clear finish line, it's easy to feel lost.

So, how do you figure out what’s enough to confidently step into a role without drowning in endless learning?

Would love to hear your insights and advice!
