Bada Madarchod TL hai. In my last project. Before this work from office shit I myself was working from Goa and had told my team to go anywhere, i didnt want to see thr faces. Just do the work on time and if facing any issues let me know in advance so I can manage it. They even came to visit me in Goa.
If you go how will he/she know?
He's saying what if suddenly something comes up and there is a need to be in office..that's why i am concerned abt
But WFO is only for a day so other days you can work from home if your hometown is nearby Else take a leave and go no one can stop If you are not able to take leave urgently the apply 20 days in advance and say no compromise with this and enjoy
Considering client or directors visit happens randomly and you go to your hometown without telling anyone, you can be in trouble. As a TL, my only advice is to either take exception approval or just take 4-5 days leave and enjoy.
Exception approval is off no use, it is only for rejection
Why don't organisation have some leeway for people who leaves far away from work location so that atleast once or twice they can go home in a year for 1 month atleast without stress Managers won't approve 1 month leave even 5 days they show tantrums We are okay with 1 day 2 day office but there should be some leeway in a year because every month no one can travel and Accenture is not giving hike
Majority of people doing Friday and Monday WFO, and then almost 2 weeks from native.
Plan in such a way that you visit office on Monday. Travel to your hometown and visit next week Friday to office . So two weeks of time will be covered.

I told because that's where I have home
Yea once I asked this to my manager and she denied saying the same thing what u said. But I told her that I have talked with HR so she didn't say anything. So I will go for sure. And from next time I will not tell anyone.
Well. You have to be working from office atleast once a week. So if u can manage that even by visiting your hometown, go ahead.
Else take leave and go
