TCS Workculture

I have been working in TCs for the past 2 years. Changed 3 projects. Following are my observations after working here.

  1. If you want to have a piece of mind, you have to become the number 1 shameless person in the team.

  2. If you start taking things personally here, you will be dead by over thinking.

  3. No matter how hard you work here, you will very seldomly get appreciated.

  4. The worst culture is mainly due to Indian dev leads, team leads, solution architects who went onsite from TCS India and now start treating Indians like slaves.

  5. Most of the managers will be heartless, shameless, hopeless and senseless.

  6. Middle management will just have you satisfy thier ego and obey to whatever they say on the pretext that it has come from HR.

  7. Quarterly profit for TCS was Rs 20k CR. Yet employees are getting paid 1.5% as hike and also deducting salary if we are not working from office.

  8. Managers and leads will talk to you so nicely like you are a close family member only while accepting you into a project. Once you are in a project, you will be treated like sh*t.

  9. RMG tops on all of the BS and inhumanity prevailing in TCS.

  10. Some bad managers will pressurize you unnecessarily so much so that you will fall prey to insomnia.

  11. Leave approval is in itself a huge task in TCS.

  12. To succeed, start taking things a little bit more seriously. Not much though.

After working for 15 years in 5 different companies , with 100% conviction I can definitely say that work culture hardly depends upon company and it solely depends upon the project/team/manager. Sometimes we are so much misfit that nothing can be done. Sometimes we are meant for something else and we are at the wrong place. I have seen people who became successful just by being at the right place all the times. My suggestion will be to change the project by any mean, if that is not possible then change the company.

I would rather compare TCS with a panjabi dhaba having all the Indian dishes on its menu. If you are ordering dosa/uttapam there and not enjoying your food that simply means you have not choosen the right dish. Beacuse it cannot matches your taste and expectaion. Rather Dal makhni would have been a better choice. Ya to sahi cheez order karlo ya phir nayi south Indian restaurant dhund lo.

Unfortunately, in TCS employees are not even getting released in whichever project they are in. Or if they are on bench, then they are extremely forced to accept any project and that too WITHOUT CONSENT. I have already experienced that and would not want to talk more on that. Else people will think there is some problem with me and that I am full of problems.

I agree 100% the only solution is to change company asap or they have to fire all the people managers who are non technical and are playing politics and rarely doing anything worthwhile.

Not only TCS bro, every company will take advantage of our pathetic situation.

Every year lakhs of new graduates, wants to join corporate job. There is more supply and limited demand.

Even laws also not much favour to employees. Coming to notice period it is just 2 weeks in USA, but in service based companies in India, it is 3 months.

Since on an average, an employee has no choice, so, they has to all this.

Taking advantage of our situation WITCH companies are toppers.
