TCS wants to Retain me
Hi, I have an offer from HCL and TCS HR called for a meeting with management for retention and manager also called for retaining.
So is it true that they want to retain or just casually they are saying?
Need someone to clarify if someone faced the same.
Will they surely retain me or not?

Don't trust on tcs take everything on email

Can you give more details so can help you better ?
Like will they retain you with same offer as HCL or better or less? Any perks and benefits ? Also did they agree it will be base Salary and not VP etc

I have a meeting on monday with the management Then we will have discussuion on this

Okay couple of pointers
- get it all written on email
- When they say they will match the offer let them know it should be base pay match and not something where they customise and add it all in VP which most people don't get
- Let them know the other perks and benefits HCL would be offering and squeeze them max
- Remember to hold the upper hand in the negotiation. TCS needs you and you don't need TCS. A mistake I see alot of people make is being the nice guy during negotiation. Don't do that.
- Anything discussed get it written. And push them to write and send it. Also read the email they send alot of these HR write jargon to create loopholes or keep things too much open ended. Don't allow that to happen
- Idk about the politics in your project but this some times trigger a fear response in managers to find someone to replace you incase you do this in the future so be prepared for any counter measure.
- Don't let them sweet talk stuff like less work flexible hours etc etc that you can get anywhere.

I got retained recently. I was 16LPA and landed a 24LPA. TCS matched the same package - but the basic pay was not increased. If my current quarterly variable was x% of 16LPA, the revised compensation had a quarterly variable the same % (x% of 24LPA). The rest of the increment was put to BOB.

Leave any way they dont hive salary increase

Don’t fall for the trap the world I big explore other companies

Even on email your retention hike may get postponed for months. Take time for processing etc. just switch bro from tcs.

Whats ur experience and how much offer you have from HCL?

Make everything via email. Don't accept any verbal confirmation. Also don't fall for incentive/variables. Let them match ur fixed pay. of hcl with tcs
