What do you do with Pyspark and Aws? Is it like you use python stuff to create apache spark based application and host those on aws?

In my company, we have a couple of pyspark data engineers. I don't know why they add pyspark in front of the title.
But their job is to identify the tables and columns we need from the company's huge data backbone and write glue jobs which put the necessary data into our target sql/nosql db's
