🚨 TCS Q1 FY26 Reality Check: The Brutal Truth About Your Job Security 🚨
Guys, just watched Milind Lakkad's latest interviews and dissected the Q1 results. The picture isn't pretty, and I think we all need to face some hard truths.
THE NUMBERS THAT MATTER: • Net profit up 6% but revenue FLAT at ₹63,437 crores • Sequential revenue actually DROPPED 1.6% • In constant currency? DOWN 3.1% • Growth has basically flatlined
ANNUAL HIKE UPDATE: Still Playing the Waiting Game Lakkad's exact words: "We have not made a decision on that front yet and we will decide during the year"
Translation: NO HIKES until macro improves. We've gone from 10.5% hikes in FY22 to potentially the LOWEST in 4 years.
THE UNCOMFORTABLE TRUTH When asked about TCS having India's largest employee base, Lakkad dropped this bomb:
"In life too, we sometimes take things for granted. The same applies to TCS, but that cannot be the case forever. I firmly believe the nature of jobs will change, but opportunities will also increase."
This isn't corporate speak - it's a WARNING. Don't take your job for granted.
AI REALITY CHECK: • 114,000 employees already have AI skills • Traditional IT jobs are disappearing • Lakkad won't commit to maintaining headcount levels
WHAT'S HAPPENING ON GROUND: • Attrition at 13.8% (highest in 2 years) • Variable pay linked to 60% office attendance (work from office or lose money) • "Bringing in discipline" = financial pressure to return to office
THE BRUTAL REALITY: If you're doing the same job you were 3 years ago, you're probably in the wrong category. TCS is preparing for a future where traditional IT services jobs may not exist.
BOTTOM LINE: Stop waiting for increments. Start preparing for jobs of tomorrow. Job security isn't guaranteed anymore - even Lakkad admits it.
The writing is on the wall. Are you reading it?
What's your take? Are you preparing for this shift or still hoping things go back to "normal"? Drop your votes and thoughts below. Let's have an honest conversation about where we're all headed.

POLL: How are you preparing for the AI-driven job market shift at TCS?

Why the fu*k everyone thinks new tech/new IT = GenAI solely? It’s a component that is being added to existing systems.
Go study more about the IT sphere, there are layers of AI, GenAI is numerously one, Modernization, Migration, Support are core jobs of TCS; Does even TCS or other IT Services has enough GenAI jobs, that we have to fill the gap for??
My personal take is all these layoffs in the name of AI is happening as profits are not going as expected, overstatffing is another one.

I second this.
True and Agentic AI will take atleast 2 to 3 years to replace support roles (Service Desk) as it's not yet fully developed and ready according to Gartner

The most well written, eye opening, and brutally honest post I've seen on these platforms.
Thank you.

Infosys performing better than TCS though policies are worst at both places

Hire an external CEO , give freedom and no margin pressure for few years ( share price might go down further) and see the result.

AI is an ocean, there should be guidance for preparing for it which is lacking in TCS

Bottom the line Some account delivery managers is not allowing to upskill their reporting candidates either wings 2 or in I-evolve they simply say no budject bold fake nonsense guys and tcs say upskill to AI

Very good analysis 👍
