TCS Layoffs, really AI is responsible??
Recently TCS is in news again, due to yet another bad reason, Layoffs...I have been here in TCS for last 3 years, this organisation till now has been an easiest place to work for a person like me who comes from manufacturing background, I always was very surprised to see the casual approach of people sitting on bench and not willing to join the projects in the name of working hours, or tech stack or support or development project and were sitting on the bench from months and years, this news was deemed to happen one day better happened today rather then later, the world is evolving rapidly and faster everyday and its a game of demand and supply where supply (associates) is always greater then demand, and now low code offerings are in big demand which requires less IT support, so friends I would say always try to be adaptable rather then rigid, its always better to either take projects or chose the organization who provides projects matching your skills rather then sitting idle on bench. I am in heavy sock today when an associate who recently joined my project and told me that she is very worried as she is very much engaged with her kid and has no bandwidth to work that much, my only suggestion to those associates is yes I agree family is priority so please take a break don't spoil the vacant seat, that might have been filled by a much needy person, who would have joined and would have worked with more comment. In the end I would say no AI is not the only reason but human is the main reason for such Layoffs.
