TCS Basic Pay: Too Low to Grow? Let's Compare!
Hey TCS colleagues,
I wanted to start a conversation about our basic pay component. I've been with TCS for 3 years now, and my basic pay is only ₹15.5k per month which seems incredibly low compared to industry standards. My current CTC is around 8 LPA.
I've heard that companies like Deloitte offer 40-50% of total salary as basic pay, while ours seems to be stuck at a much lower percentage. This significantly impacts our PF contributions (both employee and employer 12%), reduces our potential NPS tax benefits(14% of basic pay contribution) , and even affects future gratuity calculations.
My basic pay is literally growing slower than savings account interest! 😂 I'm curious what others are experiencing - would you mind sharing your basic pay, years of experience, and approximate CTC for comparison?
I'm also wondering about experienced professionals who joined TCS directly (not as freshers) - did you also receive a low basic pay component? Is this a company-wide pattern or does basic pay percentage increase with tenure?

Actually, instead of expecting anything from this company one should leave. Because, these people will hire more from outside but won’t care about existing people. And moreover, this is just a company we shouldn’t associate our sentiments with it .
