What are your thoughts on future of work? Is it necessary for employees to be in office?

If it were necessary for employees to be in office in order to work then I guess TCS should have gone extinct in Corona times. It's just capitalism, you and I are modern age slaves, keep hustling to own your "independence".

The worst part is TCS doesn't have enough seats in its offices for all its employees. So if they ask you to come to the office, it's only for swiping in and swiping out & not to work.

Long long ago, there was a time at a WITCH Co when folks had to use a chain and lock to secure their chair to their assigned cube. Reused from railway travel used to secure suitcases below the second class berths.

It didn't stop at that, people used to put a sticker with their name below the seat so they had an easy answer to the question "How is this your chair, is your name written on it?".

In my personal opinion. "Not necessary at all"

Yes, Necessary. Yes some companies can exist in remote mode too, and they can do well, but that is not the point.

TCS : "Ethical" Tata doing what ethical Tata does

After they didn't see the required resignations from 5 day office, now TCS is asking employees to transfer to locations with just 2 week notice.
