I worked as a freelancer for a us client from india, and paid in usd , and earn more than 20 lakh and less than 50 lakh.. do I need to have gst ?

Yes more than 20L as business income needs to have GST

No need , if its one time earning. If recurring, then need to have GST number within 30 days.
