Trending @HCL; Tax calculation PB

Hi,

I am trying to understand how tax gets calculated on PB.

My salary is x and monthly tax deducted last month was say 'y'. I got PB this month which is 10k more than monthly gross salary (x+10k) however tax deducted was 30k (y+30k) more than last month's tax.

Can someone please help what I am missing here?

May be you would be moving to next slabm without knowing x and y it's difficult to answer

Any bonus is taxed at 30% flat irrespective of which slab/bracket you fall under

Interesting... never heard of this before... but I was taxed at 31.2% on PB... I am in middle range of 20% tax bracket but 30% tax and cess on top of that has been deducted....
