Taking projects while on Bench

Hi guys, if someone is recently released from the project (total exp 2.10 yrs) but they want some gap due to personal reasons and don't want to take projects atleast for 2 months.. what should they do? RMGs keep conducting drives and add in teams group etc. how does someone avoid getting allocated? Thanks in advance!!
