Switching from TCS as there is no growth and fed up with QVA drama and cuts. Seeking advice on negotiating salary for the next position...

Currently C3A at TCS, with 13 YOE in mobile application development (Android, Java, Kotlin Flutter)

The current CTC is 13 LPA, and I know I am pretty much underpaid (Reason is, I switched only once in my entire career). I have only a few weeks remaining in notice and have cleared multiple tech and managerial rounds. Multiple HR discussions (salary discussion) are lined up for next week.

Initially I thought I could accept and settle with an offer of 18 LPA. But as I cleared multiple interviews, what should be a good ask for me to land in a comfortable salary?

Any tips for HR rounds?

Can someone share some advice regarding the range for my expectation, like 18-20, 20-22, etc.

  1. i honestly do not have any useful inputs. But it good to see a fellow TCSer who spent a long time here working to find a better place. Good luck

  2. My pay and experience is lesser than you, i occasionally get interview calls and i usually quote 16 to 18LPA. They never asked to negotiate. That being said i think you can certainly quote higher than 18.

Thanks for being compassionate to a fellow TCSer. I didn't even had any offers or even interview calls at the time of putting my resignation.

Out of complete frustration about the 'no-visible-hike' approach from TCS, I was forced to take the bold decision of putting my resignation without any offer.

As you suggested I am definitely going to quote higher than 18. 👍

I am c3a and ctc is 23 but believe me , salary in hand is 125k only. 30 ctc is better so plan for it.

I understand it.. but HRs are calculating based on current CTC, and hard to get 80-100 percent hike, based on my previous discussions.. 😔

Being loyal and staying long is really considered a sin these days... 😔

With 13 years of experience, aim for 22-24 LPA. Highlight your skills and achievements during HR rounds to justify your ask

Your exp *2 should be the minimum ask. Tell HR u need salary correction and u are a dependable person who doesn’t change orgs for money which reflects with u not changing from TCS after low hikes
