Switching from Service based to Product based
I’m planning to switch to a product based company. I have 2 YOE and was wondering what I should expect while trying to switch. I’ve heard that it can difficult trying to switch from a service based company, but not sure it may be for my experience level. Would love to hear your thoughts, experiences or advice on this. Thanks!

I am in the same boat. Any help is appreciated.

It’s difficult to shift once you spend a lot of time in a service company. At your experience level it won’t be an issue. You’ll be joining mostly as an entry level PD and they will expect you to have decent understanding of UX, UI and VD.
Read up about product design and development. If your basics are decent and you have a learning mindset it’ll be a breeze to shift.
All the best.
2 YOE is actually a sweet spot to switch; your basics are strong, but you’re still moldable. Yes, product companies expect deeper DSA, system design & problem-solving chops, but it’s totally doable with targeted prep. Talk to folks who’ve already made that leap. On Hiked, you get 1:1 guidance from mentors at top product firms who’ve been exactly where you are.
