Switching from SDE to PM

Hi all,

I have around 5-6 years of experience in SDE role in one of the FAANG company.

I am looking to switch to PM field.

Can someone please guide me on the right steps to do that? And how long would it generally take to land a role?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I would really suggest to move internally. FAANG PM will open many doors for you outside.

I've been trying for internal switch for a while now, but it's quite difficult to get that within a large organisation. Plus, they have their own procedure to even consider the transfer.
