Suggestions on getting first second-hand bike
I've just been presented an offer to get a 2020 FZ-S Version 3.0 Matte Blue. It has completed 22000 km so far.
My most of the commute is to office in Hyderabad Knowledge city, but on alternate weekends I find myself going 100+ kms on either a rented bike (FZ-S, Hunter 350, Hornet 2.0, or RTR 160) or my Sep 2024 Suzuki access 125.
I was initially influenced into getting a Hunter 350 as my friend bought a guerilla 450 one month back. It's a great first bike but I didn't like it as it is way too common to see here and there, and I didn't find the vibrations comfortable (probably since it was a rental bike). Not to mention, expensive.
My second option was TVS Ronin. Fan of the looks and feel. But I feel like 225cc for a first bike is a bit too much.
My aspirations from my first bike is to get comfortable with the tantrums every bike throws. To get to know what it's like to own a bike, which is missing on rentals. I understand this FZ-S is gonna give me problems. Owner is willing to give it to me for 80k. I'm gonna have to get new tyres I'm assuming but I really have no clue to be honest.
This is where I want to know more about. A bike that old, driven that far, how much more potential it holds? and what are the immedieate problems it's gonna throw to me.
Also, RTO is gonna be a problem I know. Also, Insurance? Also, Servicing?
EDIT: The point of mentioning Hunter 350 and Ronin is for reference only. Like what kind of bikes I'm interested in. I'm not planning for a 160+ cc first bike unless it is justified to me. Also, no sports bikes, only cruisers or sports adventures for me.
