Suggestions on entering IT sector

I work into insurance sector currently and the package growth here is very low. I want to move into IT, I am doing one course on data science as well but I don't think that is enough as I belong from commerce background. I need suggestions/help that how to get entry into IT. I desperately need a job or else many things will be ruined for me.
