suggestions for a car 14-17 lac

hello guys, I want to buy a car in the range of 14 to 17 lacs. I want to take it to the office and also use it for long drives and touring places within say 400 km radius of NCR. Please suggest which car (preferably SUV category) should I be purchasing?

Go for a Tata car. Design and safety

Never ever if you want peaceful ownership. Design sucks all tata cars, Nexon to harrier are all same. Their new steering design they think is cool but is just🤮. In the name of safety just airbags and thick sheets, but zero engineering too much body rolls, inefficient cars. They just buy engine from one manufacturer, transmission from another and just assemble it.

Their cars are the highest rated for safety by Global NCAP (33/34) in this price range. In terms of safety, I don't think there is a safer car in this price range than theirs.

But yeah, their design does leave a lot to be desired.

Skoda kushaq, 2 of my friends have bought it within 1 year and is a really good car.

+1. Got one for my father in 2021, done ~35k on odo so far. Absolute pleasure to drive and ticks most boxes (safety, comfort, decent mileage).

Getting to drive that car is something I really look forward to while travelling home to NCR.

Kushaq or Taigun. Creta is good but too common. Tata cars are good but personally I feel they lack the feel of premiumness. In sedan seg, you can have a look at Virtus or Slavia.

What about mg astor? I am looking for suv category only. Will check kushaq or taigun

Volkswagen Taigun Highline 1.0 TSI AT. If you can afford it, the Taigun GT 1.5 DSG.

Don't but Tata cars. They're polished turds.

Hyundai's / Kia's are easier to run & own, but they're not as well built as the Germans / Japanese.

I would generally say go for sub 4 m SUV(Sonet,Venue,Nexon) rather than Creta ,Seltos types. You would not get that much space for the extra price you payas there are additional tax on cars greater than 4m. If you really want bigger you want to shell out more money and look for Harrier sort of SUVs

Go for Creta Manual Diesel. Gives very good mileage, extremely comfy car. 5 star rating for safety. Really responsive and huge infotainment system.
But top end model will cost you 20L Maybe look at other models in your budget.
