Suggestion for asking for referrals

I’m often tagged for referrals at Uber, and while I’d be willing to help anyone deserving (and I often refer people when someone reaches out on LinkedIn), I value the anonymity that this platform has to offer. If I refer you, you will get an email that will mention my name, and just like that the mask is taken off. If you get hired you’ll know who the person behind this username is. I’m not comfortable with that.

I guess I am not the only person who faces this dilemma. So here is what I suggest.

Rather than posting if someone could help with referral, share everything required for referral in that post. So, link to the role, link to your resume, and a couple of sentences on what makes you a good fit for the role. If someone from your target company sees your post and wants to help they will not hesitate because of the risk of doxxing themselves because you will not know which username referred you.

To avoid doxxing yourself you can create another profile just for referrals (I guess creating multiple profiles is an option on Grapevine).

Hope the Grapevine team can build some feature to make this easy.
