Stuck in support project
I have an experience of 3.6 yr in a project which has been going on since years (has code implementations from 2001 and before). The tech stack includes c++ and sql. My role is to basically just do some changes in code as per new requirements every release and then be a part of UAT team. I feel so stuck and suffocated because there has been 0 learning for me and I am not able to get interview calls because of the domain. I am not sure how to move forward anymore because manager is not ready to release me from this project and I can't fight on this because of the fear of getting C band (digital incentive will stop).. neither am I able to switch.
It's bad luck mixed with ignorance that I even said yes to such a bad project when I first joined. (This was the first project call and I said yes)
Can you guys please advise on how to move on from this, what can I do to switch and get interview calls for a role in different domain when I have no professional experience in it ?
I m also in same boat ..stuck for last 3.2 years when I asked for release he stubbornly declined. It seems it is very common in these IT companies
Try to land a technical job as fresher. But you need to have great skill in that domain, there are many startups you can check.
