Trending @Cognizant; Stuck due to Rating - Seeking Guidance
My Date of Joining is June 2022, and I’ve completed 34 months at this level. My utilization is above 74.7%, YER 2023 rating was 3, but YER 2024 was unexpectedly marked as 2.
I’d like to share my concern. Performance-wise, there was no dip or issue. I maintained dedication and timely deliveries throughout. Due to a critical family health emergency (my father's bypass surgery), I had to take WFH from Oct 2024 to Jan 2025 and couldn’t comply with RTO mandates during this period.
Despite my performance and commitment, I was not promoted last year, though it was initially discussed. I had to request a release from the project due to inflexible WFH, but I expected fair recognition while exiting. Unfortunately, I received a lower rating, which I believe doesn’t reflect my contribution.
I’ve transitioned into a new project and continue giving my best. However, I’m unsure if I’ll be considered for promotion this cycle because of this rating. I truly believe I deserve it. I’d like to understand — given my situation and tenure — if I am still eligible. If not, when can I expect a promotion?
I am committed to growth and excellence, but if there’s no recognition or career progression, I may need to reconsider my future here. I’ve been exploring external opportunities for the past five months but haven’t had luck yet, possibly due to the 3-month notice period.
I would appreciate any guidance or support from the community or leadership on this matter.
