Hi, I’m a Level 8 Business Analyst at ATCI, currently working on a client-side project. While things are stable now, there are upcoming changes that don’t seem favorable for my role or growth. I had considered asking for a release around February, but stayed back hoping for a hike and bonus during the June cycle. Unfortunately, I didn’t receive a hike.
Now I’m thinking of requesting a release again to explore better opportunities, but I’m unsure about the current bench situation. I’m also concerned that the client may not agree to release me before the first week of August. If that happens, it might affect my chances in the September appraisal cycle as well — especially if it’s assumed I plan to leave, which might again result in no hike.
I’m feeling stuck and unsure how to proceed — I want to explore something new n long run this project don't look good for me, but I also don’t want to risk ending up on bench for too long or losing out again in the next cycle.

Bro you always need to plan 1-2 years in a career where you can expect bad appraisal but good mental peace.
If I would have been in your place I would have considered this year as zero hike and zero bonus, and would have asked for release.
FYI, I am also a BA at L7, I got a project within a week in May month. So bench is not a problem, I had an interview for a BA role lined up for at least 3 clients.

Me too in same situation..what I got advice is either go now by June month end or July max so that new project has to give the hike..they give or not is secondary ..current project by will not give hike that's pakka...another choice is...stay till sep and go by oct or Nov directly so that current project will give something and take that and goo....only these two options u have fyi
