Stuck between necessity and desires…… what to choose?

So recently I made my first switch and my salary has gone up by almost 100%. Initially, I used to think that once I got a decent increase, I would be able to live life easily, but the opposite has happened. Now I am not able to figure out what to do. Coming from a lower middle-class family background, I had a lot of desires, but the struggles I have seen my parents go through make me feel guilty even thinking about spending on my own desires. Please guide me if you can; it would be really appreciated.
