Struggling in My Career – Need Advice

I'm a Software Developer with 3 years of experience. I spent 2 years at a reputed company in Bangalore, but I struggled with performance. I was frequently moved between teams, eventually placed on a PIP, and had to resign.

After that, I joined a startup at the same salary. They promised a hike after a 3-month performance review, but after 6 months, my manager told me I wasn’t performing well and there would be no increment. I resigned again and started looking for a new job.

Fortunately, I found a role at a good company with a better salary. I’ve been working here for the past 5 months — but I’m still struggling. I miss deadlines, have trouble communicating clearly, and find the work very stressful. My manager has already warned me that if things don't improve, I’ll be put on a PIP again.

To be honest, I don’t feel like I’m a good software developer. I find it difficult to solve bugs on my own, and I often ask for help even with small issues. No matter the team, I end up being the weakest performer. I’m scared of losing this job, because with my frequent job switches, I know it will be tough to find another one — and even if I do, I’m afraid I’ll fall into the same cycle again. I am thinking of taking a career break and do something about my situation but I don't know what and I have financial problems (lots of EMI).

If anyone has been through something similar or has any advice, I’d really appreciate it.
