Struck with Legacy Project
Hi Folks I have been working as Mainframe developer in BFSI unit for 4 years struck with this legacy project not able to find anyother project project filled with lot of internal politics. Is there any future in Mainframes or is it a sinking ship Curious to know
There will always be demand for Mainframe resources in the market due to lack of skill, though most project are maint./support in nature. BTW I'm a mainframer too, TCS offered me 22 LPA at C2 grade so you can figure out the demand.
Yeah there was plan of modernizing mainframe application at client side which is still going on from 2018 and dropped the plan as distributed systems are not resilient as mainframes so replace them is not possible atleast for another decade
There are mainframe openings, don't worry. Just work and gain experience and better in mainframe technologies. There are onsite openings in TCS and outside also.
