Trending @Infosys; Story Update: Why does this happen to me?
I went to party with colleagues last week and I complimented someone on their dress. She made a big tantrum about how that was inappropriate. But on the other hand, when our boss made the same comment but even more crass then she was very jovial and upbeat.
What did I do wrong here? Have you seen this double standard happen too at Infosys?

Better to ignore her. Maybe she wants attention only from those "big fishes"..

@Popinz Makes sense. I am very scared what should I do? Should I resign?

Don't be scared and all.. You don't have to resign too. There will be people like this everywhere. If you keep resigning for their dramas, then ppl will be jobless.. just ignore her as such..that's it.

Ignore her, something is wrong with her. Don't let this incident get to you. I will suggest she's not worth complementing If she is bias towards same complements depending upon from whom it's coming from.

@Aga11 I completely agree. Some people are way too opportunistic.

It is not about looking good or not looking good. I've seen a lot of average persons flirting without a problem. It's all about a good mixture of self-confidence and where other person put us in their mind. If you don't have self-confidence, you will sound weird. If other person who is receiving the complement puts you on a place of stranger danger, then you have no chance of the initial approach. First, you have to establish a character in their mind to approach. This might work.

@JumpOnHell Are you sure? Because I am a very confident and go to the gym daily for Push Pull Legs.

Then, believe me, we have body dysmorphia. I'm too going to gym from past 8. And I'm one biriyani away from being obese. I'm never satisfied how I look, even when my friends tell me I look okay.

Indeed double standards exist that's why she is comfortable with ur boss complementing her & not u.
