I realized that if you work late into the nights or on weekends, then your Managers appreciate you initially, If you keep doing this consistently, it becomes an expectation and then they start expecting you to remain online late into the night and work on weekends. Once you reach that stage, you no longer get rewarded. Bottomline: don't work beyond office hours, it doesn't help in the long term.
