Steady stream of profiles in mailbox
Have been receiving a steady stream of profiles in my mailbox, freshers / experienced, few known, rest unknown, all who are desperately attempting to get a project allocation.
I really don't know what to do. If my luck is bad, I may join that list in a few weeks / months.
A few months back, we had an open position in my project, and struggled to fill that position with 99% folks that I called already allocated to projects.
Now, a position shall open in my project in the near future and I hoped that I would be able to save the job of atleast 1 person. But higher management is ready to lose a billable position but not giving approval for onboarding a person.
Don't know what's the logic behind this.

They are trying to experiment if the project can survive with less count. If it works they will make the current resource count normal.
Else they will try hiring. Its some crazy shit the management has come up with. Basically make the current resources in a project get squeezed maximum.
