Staying long or switching

I will be switching to my new company however I just got to know that one of the employees in my current company completed 11 years.

I keep wondering what's the right approach, switching after 4-5 years or staying long?

I mean both the approaches have their pros and cons but what do you think is the right approach.

There might be reasons for staying in the same company for a long period of time and it depends on the individual as to what they prioritise. E.g. people might have family constraints or they might have reached a comfort zone and are not interested to go beyond it. But as you reach beyond 10-15yrs of exp, people often look for stability as well and might want to settle down at wherever they are. The best approach would be if you have less experience, try switching each time that you feel aren't learning anything new for the past 5-6months. This keeps you skills fresh and also give new perspectives.
