I think the shark tank is fake. Why would people sell 2% or 5% of their company for a few laks or 1 crore?. I don't understand. In S3 they are talking about royalty. I have worked with a few such royalty cases. Most of the time royalty is paid only when there is a tech transfer or some sort of IP which is clearly linked to the sales generated. Why would I pay an investor royalty when there is no clarity or measurable transfer of material benefits?. Some of them are already making profits. The money they raised is just a quarterly profit. Why would I sell a good stake for funds that will not even help me expand within the state? In S1 ashneer would make a comment - "no one is going to help you. You are responsible for making your business". I totally agree with than statement. Having worked with a few investors, I can say they don't help much beyond asking for status. They are making a fool of us.

Intervue seems fishy. Their website doesn't have CSS in place and their app is like opening a web view in the app.
The cakewoman was making 30% profit. This year they were expecting 6 cr. In sales. And her ask is 60l for 2%.
Same with AI Kawatch company. My friend is running an AI company and his take is nowadays AI companies can easily be valued 300-400x of their revenue but her valuation was quite low around 40Cr. If she is offering such an advanced company it should be a high valuation.

Its all made up stories, most of them dont need funding. Its all seems scripted I guess, just add mirch masala for TRP. I have even heard that most of the good deals is not even shown on the show as founders chase them offline for high stakes in their businesses.
Its quality is decreasing with newer seasons. Season 1 was great with Ashneer Grover, atleast we got some meme material😁
