Started using WhatsApp in 2011 when there wasn’t even an option to set the blue ticks off. Today’s WhatsApp is so different. 13 years. 🤧

I bought whatsapp for $1 from app store in 2011. 2 days later it was marked as free and has been free ever since.

I read somewhere that they started charging for WhatsApp cause they wanted to slow down its growth for the time being. They didn't expect the growth they've seen, and were not ready to handle those many users.

$1 in 2011 would have been expensive considering your earning capability then

I remember my father installed it on his phone the first time. He wants to send a message in a group. He did. But it just showed single tick. We all thought double tick means message is sent correctly. We sent it again. Same thing. Again. Same.

We did this for 5-10 times. Then we asked admin, why our message isn't getting delivered & he replied - you already sent it 10 times 🥲

One of the most embarrassing moment. My father staring us. Judging us, whether he should continue our education or not😭. The message was already embarrassing on top of that, our spam🥲

There was no blue tick back then
