Trending @Infosys; SSE to TA Promotion Stuck — Switch or Wait? Need Guidance

Hi all, I’ve been with Infosys for 3.8 years — joined at 3.6 LPA, now at 4.4 LPA. I’ve mostly worked as a developer on client projects.

8 months ago, I moved to a new unit. While I’m still on a client project, this unit expects heavy unit-level involvement (demos, sessions, task forces, etc.).

For promotion (SSE → TA), my manager keeps saying “unit contribution is needed.” Even the goal sheet gives 60% weight to unit activities, only 40% to project work. And now he says nominations will happen after ratings — probably post-September.

I stayed this long mainly because of Infosys’ hybrid model, but the internal pressure is becoming too much.

Any suggestions?

Should I try for a unit change? Or go for an external switch, even if hybrid flexibility is less? Would really appreciate your inputs!

Go for external switch. TA promotion will only get you 15 % hike. (Including variable pay : 10% of total CTC)
