SRE -> SDE
Hey Grapeviners, I am currently working in a late-stage startup as a SRE. I want to transition to a SDE within a year. Reason: Not a huge fan of the constant oncall life. Which path should i go down. Any other advice is also welcome.

You may also want to consider Data Engineering. It is closest to SRE among other options, and well paid. Job will be setting up and managing data pipelines and infra around that. Not necessarily that much on call.
Consider developer career only if you have a strong interest in coding.
