I have a top 5 MBA, top 5 Btech and 4yrs in SDE, 2yrs in PM. No big tech firm will even shortlist my resume. I've applied to Uber, G, Amazon, Ms, Salesforce, adobe you name it and i get an automated rejection email few days later. I have adtech and Fintech experience, with significant impact/products delivered. I'm not sure how to get through to these firms. Do you have any advise? Can you please help review my resume?

I definitely can. DM me. But don’t be harsh on yourself. In this market we have 2k+ applications for every PM role we open in a matter of 2-3 days.
Trust me no one is going through them.
Go for referrals from people you know and ask them to DM the hiring manager (say on slack), get feedback on your profile and then add an official referral after the HM gives a thumbs up. The person has to make sure to follow up with HM and HR.
I have referred people who I know well this way and has worked much better than simply adding a referral in the portal.
Resume Tip for Big tech: Show depth over width; Show relevance with the Job description in your resume structure. Understand that the hiring manager is your audience for resume (assuming the above route) and no one else.

Don't be too harsh on yourself, you are on the right track overall. Make sure 90% of your energy goes into heading product at Razorpay someday. If you stick to that path, down the line you would get an opportunity at a bigtech

How much experience do you have? What all companies have you worked ? Salary progression over the years? Any advice to new PMs in startups

Do people without an MBA ever get considered for PM roles, if they come from Engg + tech background? Or do they have to gain PM experience at startups/smaller orgs before applying here? I mean do all PMs in your team have a top 10 MBA degree?

There is no 1 absolute truth so we will have to go with what does majority look like.
50%+ folks have a top tier MBA. Others mostly have a good product experience from previous companies (Mostly Good brand names or highly domain relevant consumer product experience) A few (10%) belong to neither of categories but that’s always the case everywhere (ex: some of them came along with their previous managers from other companies).

MBA helps you to get odds in your favour but not a deal breaker.

Whats ur secret to hardworka and not gettong tired

For me, It is to figure out what makes you tired.
Generally more work (mental or physical). doesn’t make people tired. Lack of visibility of impact you make, no or hazy growth path, feeling invaluable/ not recognised, bad managers or your own comparative mindset with others are some of the things.
First, I observe and recognize what makes me tired. For me, working on projects that have low impact and repetitive grunt with bad leadership is the primary.
Once you know what it is, see how you can start saying No to that kind and more Yes to the other kind that excites you.
Also if you have a bad boss, see how you can make your problems their problems as well. (‘This feature seems to be underperforming, I could think of x reason, what do you think and how should I go about investigating ‘more’).

Sorry for the gyan but it is what I do
Few tough questions (because whats the point of easy questions) ->
- ) What is the trajectory that Uber plans on taking ? I don't see it doing anything disruptive (and its fair to say it doesn't retain first mover advantage anymore)
- ) At what point/amount does annual money go from being great to a hassle ? (above 50 Lakhs ? 1cr ? 5cr ?) (looking for numeric answers considering an individual lives in luru or delhi)
- ) What amount of salary that you earn you would say is inflated ? (for e.g. if you ran a company, would you be willing to hire someone with same attributes for the same salary?)
- ) What is the end goal of work ? Is it to earn a lot of money and retire in a few years, is it something else ?

- Some things are above my pay grade and some shouldn’t be revealed but Uber does have a few cards up its sleeve. You can read the annual statements and see where the next growth bet might be.
- Didn’t get the hassle part? Could you elaborate
- Salaries in big tech are very heavily influenced by what other similar companies are paying. Also not all Sr. PMs would be contributing the same. I know folks who have delivered 50Mn+ recurring revenue features (obviously supported by many xFN people) and some who have added a new button. If I want the a top PM to work for my company some day, it’s expected for them to ask for good money or decent equity or high growth visibility.
- Honestly, after some decent savings want to start an affordable luxury travel company for the elderly.

Don’t know what to do with this comment. Let me know if I can help.

What is your CTC progression like from the time you started in the industry? How many switches you made? Are you currently working for Uber India?

It is depressing to have sessions with CTC as headlines.

I understand your point and partially agree but I am happy to talk more about other aspects of my life in the comments to answer more questions

Talk about anything, I feel there was no need for mentioning CTC in the headline.
You wanted validation of your success and people asking you questions are not out of the knowledge they seek from you but out of the position/status you have.
You drop the title and position the same people and will not even give attention.
:)

Do u read any books or learn things on the go with internet/llms

I do like reading a lot. But I mostly read war fiction, mythology fiction or general non fiction.
For product stuff Lenny and a few other product sub stacks are my go to.

TBH, I do read PRD and strategy documents from other org PMs at Uber to know what’s cooking there and how are others thinking about their business
