Hi all, I have been wondering for the past few days, why we have such a poor sporting culture in our country?
China used to be like us in the 80s, with very few medals in the Olympics (if I consider the Olympics medals as a metric). But they worked really well and efficiently towards the problem by forming clusters of games, healthy competition, focusing on more medal oriented sports (badminton, swimming for instance).
I wonder if it is only government policies and bureaucracy which has destroyed the sports culture? What are other things which we can correct at our level if possible?
Or do we continue like this only in the future?
