Spending weekends alone in a tier 1 city

Currently working as a mid level manager, living in a Tier 1 city, staying in a rented flat and earning enough to lead a very comfortable life in India.

I’m 27 and have lived alone ever since i started my corporate journey.

I used to believe that having absolutely zero plans for the weekend is the ultimate luxury. But after spending months of isolated weekends stuck in my apartment, i’m come to realise that this routine gets really heavy, to a point where it completely drains my mental peace.

Binge watching random shows, ordering junk food, scrolling through reels, sleeping at odd hours, doing laundry, overthinking, etc. make up my entire Saturday and Sunday. i don’t think these activities are enough to keep me sane, atleast not in the long run.

Corporate folks in these cities are one of the most exhausted bunch, spending all their energy at work. Have zero motivation to go out alone.

On top of that, waking up on a Monday morning like today just to log back into work without actually feeling rested doesn’t make sense anymore.

I am looking for suggestions on activities that I can pick up. Looking for low effort hobbies, finding a good community and decent weekend routines.

Suggestions welcome!

Haha easier said than done. But honestly, i think i need to fix my own routine and find some hobbies before jumping into dating.

You are living such a peaceful life buddy ...you have so much time ...there is no fun than doing nothing - sitting and relaxing on weekends ....

That's exactly what i used to think too. It feels peaceful initially, but the absolute isolation really catches up to you after a while.

I like to cook something nice for myself on the weekends. Plus do meal prep for the rest of the week as I do not get time for that during the week. That takes up most of my time. And for me cooking feels like therapy 😊

You can search for group activities on instagram or bookmyshow. I found a few and have met new friends! It also gives you something to discuss with your teams when they ask what did you do this weekend. Or you can do some part time fun job like dog walker or volunteer for social activities. Hope this helps!
