I was a recruitment lead in my college and TCS recruited over 250 people during my time. The interviews were random and people got rejected or approved for no specific reason 😂 it was more rewarding than spinning the handles in Cred

Common af in WITCH for freshers. They ask basic aptitude questions & general stuff from your stream in their interviews. If you get selected, then they teach you coding through training.

Not a big deal in those companies. Luck of course plays role. I am assuming it was a fresher role, and for fresher, many recruiters don’t care much about coding. High chances that luck can play a role. Sometimes recruiters also select candidates on whims and fancies. Hardly affects the company, after hiring they can put you in QA role, or many such similar roles where not much coding will be involved.
