Sodexo Meal pass card Usage

I am able to use the Sodexo Meal pass card only in Zomato and Swiggy.... Anywhere else, were you folks able to use it other than office canteens ?

You can use it in grocery apps like BigBasket, JioMart and similar apps. Not for all items in the app, only that are specific to groceries. Some supermarkets also accept Sodexo Meal Pass

If you some non-food items in cart, then you need to separately add that amount in BB wallet before proceeding with checkout. It would then allow you to pay the remainder from sodexo. During the first checkout attempt it will tell you the exact amount you need in wallet. Blinkit and Swiggy Instamart also allow MealPass but all items in cart must be food.

You pay tax on that amount if you take it as our in hand component. Getting that money in the form of meal coupon/sodexo card exempts it from any tax liability and you get full amount. Good benefit if you're in 30% bracket. Ofcourse there is an annual cap over that amount

No tax on the amount taken in the Sodexo Meal card....I think the limit is 3k per month.

This amount is intended to be used for the meals that they take while during their job.

Few years back, these were given in physical paper coupons in denominations of 10, 20 50 etc. If your company has a paid cafeteria, there you can use them to buy your meal..

That's why even now you can use it only to buy food or groceries
