So I am in a dilemma now.

I started my career with a full stack position last year. But due to the poor project scene, I grabbed the first opportunity that came and took a role in the Automation Engineer role for a bank . It is a long project of 2 years minimum as I don't want to benched. Everything is great about the timings and the team is also great. But I really want to advance as a Software Development engineer. Can you advise me. Personally, I think I have built lots of projects to justify it as well as I have good knowledge of tools and stacks in python , js and java. Please advise me. I am also getting a decent pay of around 7 lakhs here as well. I know it's not much but it's double what I had invested for my Engineer so I am more than happy. If you have an offer as well I am open to share my resume

Just fake your experience in development. Hide it by build projects and after giving 4-5 interviews in other company you will get to know the interview questions mostly asked in full stack.. No one is gonna call your manager whether you have worked as developer or not

I suggest talk to your project manger about skill set and your interest to work on full stack projects and ask him/ her to position you with out getting released from the project.
