So how do you actually network?

I got to know that my to be peers are actually talking to my to be seniors. Job starts next week. Is this normal? I did talk to one senior about 7 months back when I got the offer. Am I behind? Will they be given preference.

How do you actually network? (In office, not talking about networking thru LinkedIn or twitter)

Carry a few cat7 cables wherever you go.

Finding people who allow you to plug them in, well, that's another thing.

Wireless used to work, but it takes forever to transfer data, so much packet loss during small talk!

Just be an interesting person to talk to. Also be precise in why exactly you approached someone

Lol, following

I SUCK at networking so bad! Which most people refuse to believe because I love talking to people, but I just don't know how to do it in a formal setting or turn them into "professional contacts" that would help later ¯_(ツ)_/¯
